  • Summary of Trans Himalayan Motor Bike tour



    Location: Himachal Pradesh
    Best Time: 15 June to 15 October

    Kinnaur and Spiti Valley one of the remotest and cultural regions of Himachal. The Spiti Valley situated in the Himalayas range in the north east side of Himachal Pradesh and having desert and now mountain. The name "Spiti" means "The Middle Land", the valley between Tibet and India. This Motor bike safari will start from the Manali through the Spiti and Kinnaur valley over the high passes Rohatang Pass& Kunzum Pass (4550 m) providing spectacular views of picturesque snow capped peaks, remote Buddhist villages and old monasteries.

    The tour ends in Shimla which was once the capital of India during the British era. From Shimla you will drive by car to Delhi.

  • Complete Daywise Itinerary

    Day 01 : Delhi Arrival
    Upon arrival at Delhi international airport, our office representative will meet & assist you and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Rest of the day free for own activities.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 02: Delhi - Chandigarh fast train and drive to Manali
    Morning transfer to the railway station to board the fast train to Chandigarh. Arrive Chandigrah and drive straight to Manali (320 Kms/8 hrs). Arrive Chandigarh and check into hotel.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 03: Manali rest day
    Free day in Manali for own activities. One can visit Hadimba temple, Tibetan monastery and walk around the mall road.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 04: Manali - Chatru - Chandertal (116 kms/ 7 hrs)
    Meet your staff and guide. He will give you the instruction about the route and Royal Enfield bike. After breakfast start the journey up to Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and then meandering our way down to Gramphu. From here we ride along the Chandra river. From Gramphu to Chandertal Lake is a dirt road but very scenic providing views of Bara Shigri Glacier and CB ranges.  Arrive Chandertal Lake and check into your camp at base of Chandertal Lake.
    Overnight: Camp.

    Day 05: Chandertal - Kaza (170 kms/ 6-7 hrs)
    Early morning walking tour to Chander Tal lake situated at the altitude of 4270 m, it will take 2 hrs to return back to camp. Enjoy the charming scenery and ride your Royal Enfield bikes climbing over Kunzum Pass (4558 m) and passing some remote and beautiful villages of Spiti valley. Arrive Kaza and check into your hotel.

    Day 06: In Kaza
    In the morning you visit the Ki Monastery located 12 km from Kaza. This ancient monastery is believed to have been built on a crater of an extinct Volcano. The monastery boasts of ancient brass instruments consisting of trumpets, cymbals and drums.
    11 km further ahead is a small gompa at Kibber, which has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village here. It is considered to be one of the highest villages in the world. On the return journey to Kaza you are rewarded with some excellent views of the Damul Village. Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 07: Kaza - Pin Valley - Dhankar (60 kms/ full day visit)
    Morning after breakfast, excursion trip to Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. Here we also visit Gungri Monastery. After the visit we continue our ride to visit the old monastery at Lalung village and then continue to Dhankar village & monastery. This Monastery at Dhankar rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture.
    Overnight: Guest house.

    Day 08: Dhankar - Tabo - Nako (90 kms/ 3-4 hrs)
    Morning ride to Tabo and explore the village. Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber.  Late Afternoon continue your journey to Nako - a beautiful village located by the banks of lake. Arrive and check in at camp.
    Overnight: Camp.

    Day 09: Nako - Kalpa (125 kms/ 6 hrs)
    Early morning visit the village, the Buddhist temples with stucco images and murals and a rock where a footprint like impression is ascribed to Padmasambhava. Later we bike from Nako to Kalpa enroute visiting confluence of Satluj & Spiti rivers at Khab. Kalpa village is located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. Arrive Kalpa and check into hotel.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 10: Kalpa - Sangla - Chitkul - Sangla (103 kms/ 6 hrs)
    Morning after breakfast start your biking tour to Sangla valley enroute visiting Kamru Fort & village. Later trip to Rakcham & Chitkul. Rakchham is situated on the banks of Baspa River, at an altitude of 2900 M, and is famous for its scenic beauty. It is about 13 km from Sangla on the way to Chitkul (3450 M). The last and the highest village in the Baspa Valley, Chitkul, 28 km from Sangla, is noted for its alpine meadows and views of the snows capped peaks. Looming above the village is the impressive Mt. Kinner Kailash (6050 M).
    Overnight: Deluxe Camp.

    Day 11: Sangla - Narkanda (198 kms/ 6-7 hrs)
    Morning after breakfast travel to Narkanda via Sarahan. In Sarahan, you will visit the famous Bhimakali temple, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths. Continue ride to Naraknda. On arrival check in at hotel/ camp.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 12:  Narkanda -  Shimla (69 kms/ 3-4 hrs)
    After breakfast start your travel to Shimla enroute visiting the hill resorts of Kufri. Arrive Shimla and check into hotel.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 13: Shimla - Delhi drive (365 kms/8-9 hrs)
    Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi by surface. Arrive Delhi and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
    Overnight: Hotel.

    Day 14: Delhi departure
    Transfer to the airport/railway station for onward journey
