Our commiment to responsible travel
We India Trekking and Tours are committed to promoting responsible travel that help local people, respects and protects local cultures, communities, flora, fauna, landscapes and environments. We believe that helping and protecting local culture and environments through responsible tourism does not mean a compromise in quality or standards of travel services but simply a little more thought and care and there are many admirable examples of how tourism can give benefit to local people and sustain the environment.
Our main aim to provide eco friendly and responsible adventure tourism, including arranging clean up treks, for example to Base Camp, working in partnership with local communities and ensuring our own policies, practices and trips are eco friendly and our company staff and group members/participants aware of the importance of responsible tourism.
Local support and development
We believe that local peoples especially the young generation should benefit from tourism (Time to time we organise free adventure courses for local young people with the help of local authorities) Tour and tourism can be a powerful support for Himalayan people. India Trekking and Tours supports local development in the Himalayas in various ways with both management and staff involved in voluntary and other development work.
We use most of the trekking staff from local villages. We pay fair and good wages and ensure that all our guides, porters and other staff have appropriate facilities and equipment. Their welfare is important to us and we work as a team.
